We are Aguas Calientas, the town right at the bottom of the mountain from Machu Picchu and it is pouring rain! We came here on a train which was awesome. We sat facing each other with a table in between us so we could play cards. Dad, mom and I sat together and Lilia and Marije sat together. Across from my sister’s were two guys from Brazil. We started talking to them and then we taught them a card game and they taught us one that was really fun. Once we arrived in town we went out for lunch. We ate at a little Peruvian restaurant. Our waitress had a baby in a sling on her back. We ordered a soda called Inka Cola which is very popular here and we wanted to try it. When we ordered it, the waitress said it tasted kinda like pineapple. We got the soda and poured it into our cups, then we all took a sip. It tasted like a chemical form of bubble gum, it was disgusting! It even smelled like bubble gum. None of us drank any more and eventually gave the rest of the soda away to a little boy. Next, we ordered our meal and one the choices on the menu was grilled alpaca. Mom, dad, and I all got the alpaca and it was really good (alpaca is a small version of a llama). The only bad thing was during the whole meal dad was saying how good the baby alpaca was and dancing the meat around like an alpaca. Sometime during our meal it started raining, so we all ran back to our hotel and hung out. Tomorrow we are going on a tour of Machu Picchu.... I am super excited!
